March 29

-Caleb Semenyna

Hello church family! Hope you are all doing well and are staying connected with friends and family. In light of the current circumstances which we find ourselves, the church leadership has decided to take church live online using Zoom! Here is the plan.

When? Sunday April 5th at 10:45 will be our first trial run of online church.

What will this look like? There will be live worship led by our phenomenal worship leaders (organized by Stephen Soles). There will be a live message delivered by our faithful pastor Nelson Senft. And there will be opportunities to share and pray with the lovely people you once were able to see every week!

How will this work? Zoom is a video conferencing platform that allows large groups of people to stream video and audio with one another. You do not need an account in order to participate.

All you will need is 1) Reliable internet connection 2) A computer or phone with video capabilities 3) An emailed link to the Zoom meeting. On Sunday morning, all you will need to do is click the link that has been e-mailed to you and by the magic of technology you will be transported to live virtual church! If what you just read seems like a different language, don't worry! Your techie friend or grandchild should be able to help :)

What I need from you: In order to make this happen, I need e-mail addresses for everyone in the church so that I can send the link each week for the service. Please e-mail your email addresses to csemenyna@ivcf.ca

Please pass the word about this to anyone in the church who may not be on Facebook as we want to make sure no one is left out from this opportunity!

There will undoubtedly be some kinks to workout but we look forward to worshiping "together" once again!

I will be the point person for this endeavor so please feel free to message, text or call me with any questions you may have!

Peace be with you!

March 18 - Message from Pastor Nelson

"OK friends, time for the update on LBF.

We had our Elder Board meeting last night and decided to suspend all church meetings until further notice. I will post a video message each week close to the weekend which you can access on this group or on our website. As the situation changes we will make decisions as a Board about the resumption of small groups and eventually the Sunday service. if you have the technology, small groups could meet using platforms such as Skype or Zoom, which is a way of staying in touch and praying for each other. We will leave it to each group to decide on this.

We encourage you to keep in prayer for the church and our community. As you hear of practical needs for help or resources, please use this group to inform us. Please let the Elders know if you are in financial need or know of someone in need.

This is going to be a long haul. Stay in touch with each other through social media. We are asking God to show us what He is saying to us throughout this time.

There are opportunities in every challenge. As Paul wrote to Titus: Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing good in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives. (2:14)"
