Pregnancy Care Centre

Faith-based, non-profit agency who provides care for those experiencing unexpected pregnancy, pregnancy related loss, and sexual trauma. They offer resources, support, and education, and all their services are free and confidential.

Odyssey House

Has a vision of a community that is free from family violence and abuse; Odyssey House works to achieve this by supporting individuals impacted through safe shelter, education, advocacy, and access to community resources. They are a non-profit organization and a registered charity.

Volunteer Opportunities: To become a volunteer, fill out the application form on the website.

Other Needs: Financial donations are welcome and so are donating things like personal hygiene items or toys. They also welcome hosting a fundraising event, or becoming a fundraiser. There is a form to fill out to become a fundraiser on the website.

My Luv Pak

Their mission is to bring the children that they support, comfort, hope and joy, and they hope to make a lasting impact that shows there is a community of people who genuinely care about their well-being. Each backpack is full of personal belongings designed to meet the needs of kids coming into foster care and dealing with hardships and trauma. 

​

Volunteer Opportunities: People can help fill backpacks and donate new items for either boys or girls. There are lists on the website to help.

Other Needs: Financial donations are welcome and people can also give the money from recycling bottles to Luv Pak.

Joy Chapel

Joy Chapel is a ministry that works with adults with disabilities. Each Thursday a hot supper is served followed by a church service with singing, Bible memorization, an offering, and a sermon.

Volunteer Opportunities: Preparing & serving food, take prayer requests from clients, lead singing during service.

Mission Thrift Store

Exists to support the work of Bible League Canada.

Net profits from all sales from its 50 stores in Canada go to over 40 countries for adults and children Bible programs, initiation of new churches, and persecuted church ministries.

Volunteer Opportunities: Donate gently used clothes & household items.

Volunteer at the store: Receiving donations, assist with organizing merchandise on the floor, cashier, and many other opportunities found on their website.

Helping Hands Grande Prairie

Helping Hands aims to help reduce food insecurity in the Grande Prairie region by providing healthy nutrition with dignity, inclusivity,  family support, and fight poverty by facilitating wholesome meal hampers.​

1. Back to School Hamper & school snack hampers.

2. Seasonal Food Hampers i.e. Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving.

3. Weekly Emergency Food Hampers i.e. sudden job loss or health issues.

Recently partnered with Northreach to better coordinate services.

​

Volunteer Opportunities: Preparing seasonal hampers, especially Christmas.

Other Needs: Sponsor a family and directly provide the hamper.
